Packard built 16,600 automobiles in its Nineteenth Series 1941 model year. Only 358 of them were 8-passenger, three-row station wood bodied wagons built by Hercules. Divided between two models, the standard and the upgraded trim DeLuxe, they are nearly impossibly rare and distinctive. All prewar wood-bodied wagons are highly prized and avidly sought by collectors but Packards like this are rare, distinctive prizes. Deluxe trim, including the chrome fender accents and front fender marker light housings, are joined in this exceptional example by other features including the grille guard, hub caps and trim rings, wide whitewall tires, radio and "donut chaser" hood ornament. It has running boards, a no-cost option this year as Packard phased them out. A particularly elegant but also practical example with 8-passenger, three-row seating its delivery is documented on its original firewall tag through Stahl Motor Company in Monterey where its elegance and practicality complemented the Monterey Peninsula environment. It has been restored to showroom condition, done right , and will show proudly or be an elegant complement to the Monterey weekend's many parties, shows, gatherings and tours. The Hercules woodwork has been redone, fitted and finished to high standards. The dashboard, instruments and knobs are correctly done and look brand, spanking new. Even better, it runs and drives perfectly with a light touch that is more modern than most cars of its era. Finished in Maroon with Maroon leather upholstery and a Black cloth roof tightly fitted over curved, varnished battens, it is as elegant on the inside as its distinctive exterior presentation
